HI All,

 Please see below a request from the SMASH team for input comparing the results of their latest release to our data. If you are interested please feel free to reach out to them, but also let me know so I am aware that someone is working on it. I think it would be great if STAR could become involved in this effort. At the recent PAC meeting there was a recommendation that we maintain our close relationship with the theory community, this is one way to do that.

I am contacting you as STAR spokesperson with our question below. Please forward this to any of your collaborators who might be interested in running such a test and getting back to us.

We have recently finished a new SMASH release (SMASH-2.2), which finalizes our implementation of HepMC output and direct Rivet integration. Both can either just include the final hadrons of the calculation or the full event scattering history. For HepMC, we offer ASCII and now also ROOT format. We also added the functionality to include weak decay channels in order to match experimental particle detection.

We would be very happy to collect some feedback from our experimental colleagues, if our implementation is sufficent to be used by Rivet analysis in order to streamline comparions between theory and experiment. The ideal scenario would be to run some short test runs with real analysis, also ensuring our documentation is complete. We are happy to include further changes for the new version, if issues occur.
