hi Yi,
It may be best to measure some.
I'm a little skeptical the absolute errors for copper features over the longest distances on the hybrids are even only <200 um. Perhaps.
Or was the question about the edges? Edges to edges may be more precise than copper to edges or copper to copper.
Sincerely,

Gerard

p.s. I don't recall this was any kind of problem for IST, where the hybrids were much larger. We should simply avoid relying on very tight tolerances for this.

Hi Jianing,

Thanks a lot for the information.
I think it would be tricky to have a 20 micros precision on the assembly if the tolerances for hybrid and MS are 200 micros.
(The tolerance on the MS is still to be confirmed.)

Cheers,
Yi

Hi Jianing,

I have been thinking about the alignment.
Could you please tell me the precision of dimension in Hybrid?
Thanks a lot.

Cheers,
Yi

Hi Zhenyu and all,

I talked to Jianing about the Nicomatic connectors she ordered. It
seems that the Chinese agents are not aware of the situation of
the
issue, so they will still ship them to Jianing on Sept. 11.
The plan is that Jianing will have a look and test them to see if
there is any obvious issue on that. If yes, I will send the
connectors I purchased for plan B to her and we will make a
further
decision.

Cheers,
Yi

Meeting minutes

News - Zhenyu
1) Adjustment of milestone timeline
In accordance with module assembly schedule, we will move the
completion of production module assembly by 2 months, and the
others by 4 months
2) Hamamatsu Silicon sensors
Received 4+6 prototype sensors from Hamamatsu on Aug 22

Hamamatsu sensor - Zhenyu, Andres
1) Baby sensors
continue measurements with 3 baby sensors. Low leakage current
measured from 2 of them over extended period of time (2
weeks).
The large leakage current increase seen with the InnerSensor
Chip1 could be due to mis-handing during the measurement
2) Prototype sensors
By eye, the sensor shapes/sizes seem to match with those of
the
hybrids. More detailed inspection will be done under
microscope.
The IV/CV curves for inner sensors look reasonable, while
those
for outer sensors look odd. Will study by measurements and
simulation.

Mechanical structure - Yi, Han-shen
1) Cooling tube
The cooling tube work is now in AIDC’s queue. 8 of them by the
end of October
2) Hybrid mounting
Soldering will need to be done at ~200 degree C. Plan to do
soldering first then gluing hybrids onto module structure.
Jigs
are needed for aligning the hybrids w.r.t. module structure.
Alignment by eye for initial mounting.
3) Module holding frame
Han-shen started working on the drawings

Simulation - Te-Chuan, Krishan
1) GEANT model
Te-chuan is still working on implementing cooling tubes into
GEANT
2) tracking study
Krishan discussed results from Daniel’s tracking code and
Te-chuan’s detector simulation.

Action items:
1) Jianing will contact the Nicomatic agent to understand
(confirm) the possible issue with the connectors
2) Jianing will find out the dimensions of the components on
T-board so that Han-Shen can be included into CAD drawings
3) Yi will check the compatibility of T-board and mechanical
structure, seeing if there is a space to accommodate the
components on the T-board. Maybe adding spacers
4) Yi will find out from EASTON and AIDC the tolerance of the
module structure and hybrid mounting
5) Krishan will forward the instruction to run Daniel’s
tracking
code, and understand the nHits requirement (true hit or
accept any?)
