Hi Zhenyu,
Sounds quite fine. As usual be sure that the pulse width feeding to the ARC-II trigger input is a few hundred ns at least. Of course that should be no problem.
It's probably easiest for you guys in general to leave the readout system latency set correctly for cosmics, and for laser data use another gate/delay generator to get a trigger pulse for the readout with a latency that matches your cosmics trigger. Although of course it is ok to change the latency settings for the APV instead.
Are there any misbehaving ARM boards or other things that I need to
look into?
Sincerely,

Gerard

hi Andres, Zhenyu,
Sorry I missed the meeting yesterday. But I looked over the nice
slides on the test system now at least.
If there are problems or apparent problems with the readout please
write me with details, I will try to help sort that out. I gather you were
still to swap the ABC boards or ARM boards to see if some problem followed
the one or other. The ABC boards are just connector boards; but there are
fuses there which could be blown.
About the laser: This is pulsed laser I presume. What is the pulse
width

The gain-switched operation of the semiconductor laser diode allows emission
of optical pulses from 45 ps to 110 ps

and rep rate,

• Continuously tunable repetition rate from pulse-on-demand to 40 MHz

and how do you trigger the readout in sync with the laser pulse?

We will send a signal simultaneously to trigger the laser and to IST/FST
readout system. We will need to tune the latency.

Zhenyu

Sincerely,

Gerard

Requested to have a few extra parts from BNL. Flemming will check with Mike
and provide them
