Minutes
0. Action items from previous weeks
1) Identify and agree on which features on the backside of the hybrids to
position the hybrids before picking them up. These features should be
included in the hybrid measurements at SDU - Yi/Hansheng, Jianing/Maowu
-> discussed at the meeting
2) Provide a detailed document of the procedure and requirements of gluing
hybrids onto MS - Yi/Han-Sheng
-> finished about 50% with most of drawings. Will write the procedure after
this Friday
3) SDU measure hybrid flatness and dimensions - Jianing/Maowu
-> will try to contact the company this week
4) UIC send a T-board and cable to NCKU to check if there is any conflict
with the MS - Xu/Zhenyu
-> will do when the campus reopens
5) Te-Chuan will finalize the documentation for FST geometry modeling -
Te-Chuan
-> sent on Tuesday
6) Studying the tracking performance by varying the Z-locations of FST disks,
and number of r/phi segments - Krishan/Daniel
1. Integration - Rahul
Remaking the components in drawings. The brown outer rails are fixed on to
the back plate and can slide through the front plate. The grey inner rails
are fixed to the front plate and can slide through removable bearings. These
bearings are made of two pieces and can be removed during the installation.
Will check what structures are available for mounting the back plate.
There is 1.311 inch clearance between cooling line and outer ring, with a
little bit less clearance including the screws. Discussed about cooling
lines, but did not come to a conclusion on who to take upon designing the
jumper tube task: BNL/NCKU?
Will propose modifications to the Aluminum ring, namely to add slots and
additional materials where slots are added
Page 4: tolerance of four joints and the tube (diameters are 1') to avoid
being stuck on the half-way. Rahul has contacted a company whether they can
make it and how well they can make it. And decide based on the answers. The
four rails are concentrated to the beam pipe, using stainless steel sheet
with a thickness of 3/8-1/4 inch
Z-locations: 60.822 inch is the closet distance of the first FST disk to IP.
The distance in-between adjacent FST disks may vary between 7 and 12 inch.
Action item: give Rahul the Z-locations in the geometry file so that he can
check whether they fit within the constraints
Action item: send Rahul the weights of the disks
2. Mechanical structure - Yi
Use two vias each on inner/outer hybrids to determine the locations of the
hybrid for gluing. Request SDU to order 10+ sets of hybrids from the old
vendor for practicing gluing hybrids onto MS.
EASTON calculated the shrinking and made the cooling jig, need 2-3 weeks to
make the new mold. No other changes other than the holes to align hybrids.
Has signed the contract with a company to measure the flatness of the
surfaces
New assistant working permit approved by NTU.
Time estimate - end of May to send new prototype to US.
Action item: order more connectors for hybrids this week
3. Prototype module test - Xu
add error for projected position
4. Tracking studies - Krishan
Checking why some events take much longer time than the other events
Action items:
1) Provide a detailed document of the procedure and requirements of gluing
hybrids onto MS - Yi/Han-Sheng
2) SDU measure hybrid flatness and dimensions - Jianing/Maowu
3) New hybrid design for mounting hybrids - Yi/Jianing/Yi
4) Send Rahul the weights of the disks - Yi
5) Order more connectors for hybrids - Yi
6) UIC send a T-board and cable to NCKU to check if there is any conflict
with the MS - Xu/Zhenyu
7) Studying the tracking performance by varying the Z-locations of FST disks,
and number of r/phi segments - Krishan/Daniel
