Hi all,
As I mentioned in the meeting, two engineers from Nicomatic who are based in Taiwan visited me last week.
I brought out the "plugging and unplugging issue" to them and they just provided a solution (please see the details below).
The short summary is that they have a bigger connector which will be easier to plug and unplug.
Please let me know if you want to try this direction. I probably can get some sample connectors rather quickly.
However, this requires to change the design of hybrid and T-board, and maybe MS.
Cheers,
Yi

Dear Yi Yang,
Thank you for welcoming us in your lab last week, this is super great to see our products are involved in a prestigious experiment.
The AMM connector you are using has "captive screws " which means that first you plug the connector and then you lock it with the screws. For unmating the connector => you first unlock and then you unmate male and female but the screws do not help to unmate.
If you want to have fixings helping you to unmate the connector we have the EMM serie connector at 1.27 pitch ( instead of 1mm for AMM) But of course you will have to change the PCB flex design. Do not hesitate to contact us if you feel you need to change this, we will provide you the right reference in 34 points.
Please visit our website www.nicomatic.com for more information about our products. You may find for you or your colleagues products suitable for your needs or we can easily develop any custom product on your specifications. We did it already for LNLS sirius synchrotron (harness with specific and tested S-parameters) in Bresil.
Feel free to contact us for any questions, staying at your disposal
Best regards,
-
