=>  For the "Plane B", it is a backup plan. In the beginning of the FST slow control development, we had a discussion with Jarda and David about reuse of the old IST slow control software. At that time, Jarda was not sure if we could re-compile the IST slow control on softioc4 because it had not been done since the end of HFT. And he encouraged us to try the grid-leak which was developed for iTPC.

And now, David is helping us to re-compile old IST slow control including HV and cooling. And we will focus on reusing old IST software.

 

        As far as the test at STAR, where will the FST module be located? (3rd floor of
platform?) Is someone taking care of running the gray cable(s) for that? And BTW
let's use one of the readout crates that modules have not been borrowed out of,
for simplicity.

=> I believe it will be on the srd floor of the platform and Rahul will help us with the gray cable. We will try to identify the crates after I get in.
