Just one additional consideration, which has been mentioned before.
not all cables have to go the same route. They could be split into 18+18 (+4) or 12+24+(4)

Briefly: the cables can be routed directly from C8, across the top of
the magnet, or underneath the magnet.
The direct path will require that we remove unused cables and gas
lines before running the new cables.
The indirect paths are fairly clear, but may require some new cable
trays.
