hi Christian & all,
I would heartily veto any route that would obstruct roll-out, that is just not a good idea even if it is something we don't contemplate in STAR's future anymore.
Also indeed for the IST I think the cables were distributed over at least 3 routes over the TPC. It is better to reduce congestion and to avoid lumping too much mass in one place (which is ahead of the EEMC so does cause some problems for some analysis AFAIK).
With two phi locations for PPB, at least two routes in for their cables would make sende I think.

Just one additional consideration, which has been mentioned before.
not all cables have to go the same route. They could be split into 18+18
(+4) or 12+24+(4)
