Flemming, please find answers to some of your questions below.

Hi All

I looked in some details on what we gotten from the survey group, and send around by Zhenyu.
I looked at whats called center of pins.

One observation:
The section two (middle ring) is done in reverse order, assume this is done to since model was rotated 30deg (or mirrored around the x -axis.

I added the data for P1-.. and P2.. in the attached spreadsheet, I will look at ring 3 later.
I calculated theRadius and Phi for the pin centers. There are systematic change with wedges, that can be
remedied by ofsetting the center by ~ -0.7 mm.
If I understand the center is determined by measuring points both on the Al-ring and the modules.
Overall RMS is 250 micro for the radius and 0.05 degree (~ 1mrad).
Both of these are (much) smaller than the delta(R) and delta(phi) of the strips.
I think the internal consistency , as measured in the clean room, is good; more important will likely be the position and rotations of the whole assembly when installed

I have a couple of questions.
To zhenyu.
What are the nominal position on the modules for the two pins (radius and phi say relative to centerline)?

According to the drawing on page 31

+/-47.71, 301.24 cm

- to the survey team
What is the difference between the
the sets P2_1-P2_12 and P2_13-P2_25:

There are two pins on each module. P2_1 and P2_2 are for the first  module, P2_3 and P2_4 for the second module ...

It seems to be the same two pins but for a different distance?

What are P2_22-1 and P2_22-2?  Repeat measurements of P2_22?

Same question to point 1,2

Will ask them about these. Some additional requests/questions:

1. Average distance along the
2. What is the precision to measure the pins?

Let me know if there is more question.

Hi Matt,
Thank for performing the measurements and putting them into the
report. May I have a few questions on the results in the report, and
if possible some requests for additional results to be included in
the report?
*********** *********** *********** *********** ***********
Questions
1. How were the coordinate systems in the report determined
"Best match" of the measured positions (Al rings - referred to as
ribs, and sensors) to the drawing we provided to him
2. There are three tables "Clouds to Surface Faces Relationship"
1) Clouds to DS RIB
2) Clouds to US RIB
These are the Al half rings
3) Clouds to DS DETECTOR FACE
Sensors
Can you please explain what each of these tables is for?
*********** *********** *********** *********** ***********
Requests:
1. Tilted angles w.r.t. the Z axis
1) Silicon sensors (dark blue wedge-shaped in the drawings on page
1)
There are three sensors on each module. I understand that not all
sensors were measured for disk 1 and disk 3
Yes
2) Peek structures (UNDERNEATH the silicon sensors measured from the
reverse side of the sensor)
The sensors are mounted on wedge-shaped peek structures of each
module. I see from the drawing on page 1 of the report that you
measured those as well.
Yes
3) Aluminum half rings the modules on mounted on
Yes
2.  Positions
1) Holes on the Aluminum half rings
Yes, Three holes for each half from front, and three from back.

I am going to verify with him that the data included in the report
correspond to the pins on the modules.
I am also going to request for additional info
1. How the coordinate system is determined
2. relative angles of the Silicon sensors in the coordinator system
3. Positions of the holes on the support structures
If you have anything in mind, please let me know.

Attached please find the report for the STAR Detector. It is subject
to change once the detector is installed as a single assembly in the
STAR magnet. These numbers are based on each half and how it relates
to the model for the detector. The model for the center array is
incorrect compared to the way the arrays are installed. Sorry for
the delay in processing this report.
