Hi, forward software folks
I am preparing a calibration production of Run 22 pp500 data for BTOF and TPC
dE/dx in the SL24b library. The plan for this is to only process a single
st_physics DAQ file from each of 3280 runs from the production_pp500_2022
trigger setup. I do not think we should discuss opening up what the dataset
is that is to be processed for this (that could be a separate production),
but I do want to ask here whether there is any benefit to you to running any
forward subsystem reconstruction codes in this SL24b production. We don't get
a free lunch for doing so as there is a reconstruction time penalty to
include some of those codes, but I actually don't know what that penalty is
at now. I also understand that there's been a good bit of code development
that is not yet in SL24b, so it may not be worthwhile to do anything with the
older codes that are in SL4b.
Please get back to me ASAP on this as I don't want to hold up the calibration
work for long.
Thanks,
-Gene
