Hi Barbara, please find the closure plots for D0 pT [1-10] GeV in the slides here. https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/HardProbes_Aug10_Diptanil_v5.pdf#page=90. Apologies for missing that earlier.

I have now made the distinctions clearer between the correlated and the uncorrelated errors for the RCP measurements. The updates can be found here: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/HardProbes_Aug10_Diptanil_v5.pdf#page=51.Slides 51-67 has all the details for the systematics. Please let me know if you have any questions. On Sat, Aug 19, 2023 at 8:18 PM Diptanil Roy <roydiptanil AT gmail.com> wrote:Hi everyone, please find my responses to your questions in this update: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/HardProbes_Aug10_Diptanil_v4.pdf#page=45The responses are on Slide #45 and beyond. Please find a few comments below:1. All comments about the systematicsAns: I didn't consider all the sources of uncertainty. In this most recent iteration, I have included Tracking Efficiency Unc., D0 Signal Extraction Unc., and D0 Reconstruction Eff. Unc.. I got the ratios for the last one from the D0 RCP 2014 paper. Slides 51-53 show the individual contributions of each of these categories for the jet pT spectra and jet pT RCP. For fragmentation function and radial profile, the plots are in backup. These errors are mostly correlated. I will include a global TAA uncertainty in the final version of the plots.2. You have used now DCA < 3 cm, this may include some background tracks. Have you done any test with a strict DCA cut like 1, or 2 cm? Just to know if there is any effect with lesser background? A bit concern for your Delta_R and Z results. Just to make sure there is no such contribution.Ans: The DCA < 3 cm is a more or less standard cut in jet-studies, so I haven't tinkered with it a lot. This is only true for the jet part though. The D0 reconstruction efficiency includes variation of DCA, and DCA-based cuts on the D0 candidates.I will check the effect in a small embedding sample to see how much the effect could be.3. Rongrong's question about wide variation in data-weighted distributionAns: There are two major things happening in this.a) The prior pT distribution and prior z distribution are simultaneously changing. That's shown in Slide #49. In case of PYTHIA, while the prior pT distribution changes, the prior Z is the same. This seems to have a large effect.b) The 2D-weights have considerable fluctuations in bins with few entries in data. That's mostly true for peripheral cases. In slides #46-48, I show what happens if I only try to match the GEANT level distribution with data for one variable i.e Jet pT or Jet Z only. We only capture the full variation when both are changed simultaneously.4. since you have Lido predictions, can you try to use the Lido spectrum as one of the prior variations and see how large sys. uncertainty it gives you ?Ans: Unfortunately, I have the LIDO Jet pT and fragmentation function curves separately (1D versions only), instead of 2D versions, so doing this in a way where I can maintain both LIDO pT and Z is not possible.I will send out a version of the presentation with the request for preliminary very soon.Thank you again for your comments. I look forward to hearing from you.On Thu, Aug 17, 2023 at 10:44 AM Diptanil Roy <roydiptanil AT gmail.com> wrote:Hi everyone, I saw all your emails, and am preparing the answers to the questions with required plots. Thank you for your updates.
In addition to Rongrong's comment, Please find my additional comments
below.
_Have you done any closure test for Z_jet^D correction procedure?
Slide21:
You have used now DCA < 3 cm, this may include some background tracks.
Have you done any test with a strict DCA cut like 1, or 2 cm? Just to
know if there is any effect with lesser background?
A bit concern for your Delta_R and Z results. Just to make sure there is
no such contribution.
Slide4:
Can you please point to your raw distributions for Z_jet as well? Just
to see how much the correction is?
Take one pT bin (say 1-10 GeV/c) for three centrality , and compare
before and after correction.
Slide30:
1-10 GeV/c pT,D bins; central top plot; why systematic uncertainties are
almost zero for intermediate p_T,jet^D0 bins, for example 8-12 GeV/c?
Same for other plots.
Slide34:
1-10 GeV/c pT,D bin: R_cp central plot: do you understand why 0-0.2 bin
has almost zero sys uncertainty?
