Hello all,

After the discussion we had this morning regarding the jumps in the mean run dE/dx I made a plot of the mean event dE/dx vs time as Flemming requested. I put together a few slides on this and uploaded them to today's meeting on Drupal. You can also find the slides here: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/High_dEdx_Investigation.pdf

It seems like the mean (event) dE/dx does start high and decrease back toward the nominal value over the course of this single run. There are fewer statistics for these later times though so it is hard to say for certain exactly what is happening.
