I won't be able to attend the meeting this afternoon but I wanted to bring to your attention reference 28 in the CMS tune paper (which is fantastic  and I am still reading it).  I wanted to point out two interesting things in the reference article https://arxiv.org/abs/1801.02536  :

1) They have already tuned pT0 for  sqrt(s) = 300 GeV!  Now of course this is with NNPDF3.0  so we cannot compare  our current tune to theirs.  But this just gives us another good reason to move to a tune with NNPDF3.0.

2) They suggest modifying the form of pT0 to include a constant term. When they do this for LO PDFs they are able to really change the low pT disagreement between and data/simulation (see Figure 3).  I think we should consider doing this but it may require augmenting PYTHIA code, which sounds like a pain.
