Hi, all
I meant to bring this up at today's TPC meeting but forgot....sorry....
==> Problem: Some FastOffline jobs are seeing NO iTPC hits. There are many
more than 4 instances of jobs where the issue is seen, but perhaps 4 runs
where all (or nearly all) jobs saw it (I'm not sure of this count).
I spent a while looking into this the past couple days using a run from
Tuesday morning (25149018, though this is certainly not the only run in which
this is seen)... for which 3 of 21 st_physics jobs showed the issue and
established these notes:
- No correlation with time the file was processed (i.e. not the first jobs to
go through FastOffline....two if the problematic jobs started many hours
later)
- No correlation with database slave accessed
- No correlation with farm node on which the jobs ran
- When processing the first problematic job later on Tuesday myself, no
problem was seen....even though the other two problematic FastOffline jobs
started even later on Tuesday.
- Nothing in the log files of the problematic jobs reveal any differences of
note. The only database access that is different from the logs is accessing
iTPCSurvey for the good jobs, but I think that could be because the table is
never looked up when there are no iTPC hits that need it.
==> I do not have an explanation as to what is going on. Anyone?
