Present: Alexei, Flemming, Jim, Yuri, Gene, and myself
== Hardware
— east laser was not running smoothly
— checked during access, now working perfectly
— this box has historically suffered water incursion on several occasions
— fixed internal contact
— cathode interlock continuing to be a problem
— correlated with high humidity in the hall
== Electronics
— still the usual losses and repairs of RDOs and FEEs (usual 15% dead on average)
— in past week, two cases of FEE with higher deadtime (can be fixed afterward)
— occurs about once a week
== Software
— continuing work on for hit errors for DAQ5000
— iTPC errors with different magnetic field
— errors should become worse with lowering magnetic field, but not always the case
— trying to understand this effect, perhaps related to track inclination
== AOB
— Gene points out that sPHENIX has requested p+p starting around mid-December
— STAR will not collect data during p+p
— if p+p running lasts until the end of January, mid-December could be the end of STAR data collection
— if any calibration sets with the TPC are still needed, NOW is the time for those requests
— Yuri suggests additional gain measurements before the end to compare with older 2008 measurements
— Jim mentioned a voltage scan might be doable during p+p running
— need to maintain the gas system running through p+p running just in case there is physics running for STAR after p+p
— Yuri received a request from a group working on P24iy, there is a shift in Kshort mass.
Best Regards,
Richard
