Present: Alexei, Flemming, Jim, Yuri, Gene, Shinichi, and myself
== Hardware & Electronics
— two scissor-lifts were not functioning well
— should be fixed today
— want to do a final survey
— can be done without obstacles using laser scans and movable targets
— will ask about targets, prefer to use ours because locations are known relative to other parts of STAR
— some sectors will be removed with proper tool (for aging studies)
— Systems shutdown, operations for the STAR Experiment have ended
== Software
— Gene is working on FXT SC calibration for the three energies that were run
— Yuri received question from PWG about p and p-bar mass position from BToF
— Yuri working on dE/dx for FXT
— need SC calibration
— some dynamics from last year (perhaps some gain reduction)
— need Au+Au from whole year of Run 25 to understand (need SC calibration as well?)
— Gene can work on that around mid-March
— also need new procedure for dE/dx since pion MIP peak cut in these data
— time scale will be longer (not weeks or a month)
== AOB
— may lose HLT farm in couple weeks
— need to find home for ~300 TB of work
— proposal to change to bi-weekly meeting time
— another proposal is to merge this meeting with the QA Board meetings on Friday
— one drawback is some focus on the TPC will be lost
— will maintain the TPC meeting for now (bi-weekly initially) and communicate more closely with QA Board
— Flemming mentions that data preservation should be discussed further and with more urgency with STAR management
— Richard added that preserving means of analysis (containers for example) is equally important
— NEXT MEETING: 26 FEB 2026
Best Regards,
Richard
