Hi,

The milestone schedule gantt chart is meant to be used as a screen shot to show that you have a reasonable waterfall of milestones, not to describe individual milestones. For that, indeed the sheet is better. There I would just take some subset (reviews, ...), probably take that subset mostly from the Tier-3 and 4 milestones.

Best,

Gustaaf

Hi Penka,

Thanks for the clarification on the pie charts.  I
do think a table of milestones (should we include the tier
info. with it?) would be better than the Gantt charts,
so it would be great if that could be made.
    Thanks,
        John

John,
I will make a spreadsheet with the milestones and will send it to you to use it as you wish.
Regarding the pie charts - we only show the estimation type which is based on the maturity scores. If you go to the tabs Estimating Method and Estimating Rules you can see how the maturity scores are translated to the estimation type.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
penka

Hi Hal/Penka,

A couple questions on the graphics (I keep the list in cc. since it might also be of interest for others):

- the milestone Gantt charts are essentially unreadable.
Is that we are supposed to use as graphics on the Milestone slides (We used to have tables of them that would be more readable?)

- for uncertainty, we do not find update pie charts of the various maturity categories for material(M1, M2, ...) and labor.  Are we supposed to have those?  All we have is a pie chart of Estimation Method (Analogy, ...), but that shows something different

    Regards,
        John

Dear L2Ms/DL2Ms,

We in the PO have prepared L2 and L3 talk templates and background
information for the NSF FDR Director's Review. You can find this
information on CERNBox. Please distribute to your L3s.
https://cernbox.cern.ch/index.php/s/Y25Sh5qQUxS0s6P

In the folder above, the files are:
2019-06-14-FDR-requirements: summary of FDR requirements from the
Major Facilities Guide
HL-LHC FDR Charge...: the charge with notes indicating who should
address each point
NSF-Agenda: a possible agenda for the review
      NSF-Background-Material: some useful definitions
NSF-L2-Template: L2 talk template (please use in preparing your
talk)
NSF-L3-Template: L3 talk template (please use in preparing the L3
talks)

As the NSF ideas about this review are evolving, the above material
may change, but it should provide a place to get started.

Please distribute the Review Preparation Timeline to your L3s as well.
