Hi all,

Here's where we stand on increased risk if we are not able to do enhanced surface testing in each L2 system.

Those systems where the additional risk of not doing enhanced tesing is smaller than the cost of doing that testing (LAr, Tile, Muon) should submit updated no-enhanced-surface-testing impacts. A few thoughts about how this could be accomplished are given below.

Please try to get this information to me by the end of the day today, or early tomorrow. And let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks  -  Hal

Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback on the NSF I&I risks. A couple of things have emerged from what you've sent me.

1. We should think carefully about the probability of any new or modified "no enhanced surface integration" risks. Presumably, the probability of these new/modified risks occurring should be quite high since the assumption behind them is that we're *not* doing the surface integration. Even a 100% probability would not be unreasonable - but I'll leave it to you to determine the actual value that best fits your risk.

2. It's very important to include an explanation of how you calculated the impacts for these new/modified risks. I will have to defend these estimates at the Ops review, but won't be able to do so if I don't have any background information.

Let's aim for Monday next week (Aug. 26) to collect the updated risks. Let me know if this is not feasible for you.

Thanks  -  Hal
