DOE L2 Managers/Deputies –

As you know, *we’ve set a date with DOE for the CD-2/3 review for the 
week of December 7, 2020*.  (Likely, though not yet confirmed, to be 
Tue-Thu, Dec 8-10).   We must start thinking about scheduling the 
Director’s Review (DR) for this, which is obviously an important element 
of this review process.

It turns out that there are precious few weeks in September and October 
2020 that occur in the appropriate time window (~ 2 months prior to 
CD-2/3) to hold the DR during which there are no upgrade-related ATLAS 
meetings/weeks – ITk, LAr, TDAQ, etc. *The only option for the CD-2/3 
Director’s Review within this window that is free of such meetings is 
the week of September 14, 2020. *

Any other choice will require adjustments -- we will do what have to do 
but, clearly, this is the best solution if it can be made to work.  
Please think about it, discussing it within your systems, etc.  In any 
case, we’ll take it up at the CCB meeting next week, when many of us 
will be at CERN.
