Dear DOE L2Mgrs and Deputies –

In anticipation of the possibility that DOE may relax travel constraints 
to CERN over the coming months, I’d like to compile a list of trips 
supported by project funds that are in P6 over the next 12 months (FY22) 
to provide the basis for discussions/requests.  DOE’s approval for such 
project-related trips will be required for the foreseeable future.

Note that this is for project-specific work performed at CERN – 
technical work, upgrade beam tests, lab work at CERN, etc. – where 
our/your presence is essential, but not for general meetings, 
discussions, upgrade weeks, or the like.  I would include reviews where 
you are a principal and your presence is required, or any meetings where 
your physical presence is essential.  But simply attending meetings for 
your general information or discussions with collaborators should not be 
included – that is, please omit anything that can be performed remotely 
with reasonable efficiency.  In the main, whatever you have in P6 should 
suffice.

Please enter a list of these trips at the google doc link below with the 
expected month of travel, approximate length of trip (e.g., 1 week), 
purpose (e.g., GCM power test), the names of those traveling, and the 
institutions involved.   You won’t be held to these dates or durations, 
just put in whatever you currently anticipate, which I assume is what 
you have in P6.

Please fill out the information for your subsystem by COB Thursday, 
October 14.
