     Below please find the minutes from our eRHIC IR Design meeting that 
was held on Friday, 4/6/2018. Please note that our next meeting will be 
on Friday April  27th, at 3 pm.

   Minutes from the eRHIC IR Design meeting held on 4/6/18
  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* We started with a review, and agreement of/on the Agenda:
    - Draft Presentation by Elke
     - Simulation Update by Alexander
     - Vacuum Update by Charles
     - Presentation by Yun on his results concerning the dynamic 
aperture results with the IR Magnet configuration

* Draft Presentation by Elke (Initial file (I don't have modified 
version) eRHIC_IR.pptx, attached)
     - Elke starts by reminding people that she needs some info. on two 
of the magnets.
         - She will send E-mail to Bob to get info.
     - Elke walks through her presentation slides
         - Various minor edits were suggested for the slides
             - Elke updates the slides in real time
         - Slide 16 needs an updated figure which shows the magnet locations
         - Some suggestions for slide listing still to do, or next to do 
for the overall IR effort
             - Impedance refinement
             - Vacuum design refinement
             - Effect of fringe field from the detector magnet
             - Simulation of beam gas background
             - Optimization of the crossing angle and magnet technical 
challenges
         - Suggestion to either add some text on a slide, or add a new 
slide about the two running modes (High acceptance & High Lumi)

* Simulation Update by Alexander:
     - He is currently putting the various pieces together
     - Working to import the simplified detail level Vacuum design
     - Working with Holger generating and importing simplified detail 
level Magnet design
     - Some brief discussion concerning the aperture for some of the magnets

* Vacuum Update by Charles
     - Charles wasn't at the meeting, so this item was postponed to the 
next meeting

* Presentation by Yun on Dynamic Aperture simulations (file 
2018April06_IRMeeting_yluo.pdf, attached)
     - Presents slides showing a status report on his simulations
     - Yun shows some early outcomes from his very initial studies
     - Summary of the discussion is that Yun has the software machinery 
setup to allow one to study how the various aspects of the IR 
configuration and magnets effect the dynamic aperture of the system.
     - Brett discusses and brings up some of the issues associated with 
effect of the fields of adjacent magnets along the beam lines.

* Next Meeting date:
     - After a bit of discussion, it is decided that the next meeting 
will be the Friday after the Directors review of the pCDR. This means 
hat the next meeting will be on Friday, APril 27th, starting at the 
usual 3 pm.
     - Ferdi brought up the idea of generating some "Posters" for 
placing around the LCR for the Directors Review.
         - A few people will generate some appropriate print outs of 
some Figures and Designs to be posted in the LCR. Maybe some iteraton on 
this via E-mail.
     - Draft Agenda for next meeting:
         - Review Re-cap discussion by all
                         End of meeting
