Dear Bob,

I’m sure you got already a lot of comments on friday, but my ones might be bit diagonal to them as I’m not an accelerator scientist.
I hope they are helpful.

- I think the slides should use the eRHIC powerpoint template
- I think if it comes to detectors you should use the what was done for the eRHIC pre-CDR
- could the slide numbers be a bit bigger
- there are quite some typos, please look over

slide 3: the IR design still misses a local pC polarimeter it can be placed in the incoming hadron beam
I would indicate forward and backward on this slide
I would also label the crossing angle
I would avoid labels like (full4) which nobody can decipher
slide 5: at this moment nobody knows what HD 140 GeV means, I think you need to introduce the concept of HD and HA first
slide 6: are this SR fans envelops full calculations with synrad or analytic calculations? might be worth pointing out
slide 12: please label all the lines
slide 14: can you use the requirements table from the pre-CDR as you have redefined certain numbers, we have not agreed on
nobody can built a detector down to 20 mrad, so please do not make this statements, we are much further along in understanding our detector design then this
the best one can do is 35 mrad.
slide 15: DVCS does not probe the gluon distribution, why do you not say pt vs p for protons from diffractive reactions
A remove the central line as it is not correct because of the the arguments before
what is this sentence for the leptons?
slide 18: I would not show the zdc like this as small piece on the other side of the beam will not provide any info

General question more for my understanding, has the new IR design been fully matched into the the rest of the hadron an electron ring.
- If yes this should be mentioned

I think to counter act this green field argument from JLab coming up often, it would also good to show that all of this fits in the tunnel together with the RCS, so show one of Doug’s 3d layouts.

Cheers elke
