Not with our procedure :-) The supervisor sick leave approval comes via simple email exchange.

I think that Workday makes it more difficult to get an emergency sick leave because if I can not work and apply for sick leave on Workday it should be approved almost immediately (unless it allows to approve sick time in the past, e.g. to approve Wednesday's sick time on Thursday. This I do not know)

Hi Alex,

Approval is by email, as before. Entering it in workday puts it in your timecard. Me clicking ‘approve’ in Workday is a system requirement.

Unless I misunderstood, when an employee enters vacation/sick time on Workday, this employee applies for it. Only after a supervisor makes an official approval on Workday the employee is authorized to take a vacation. Does it mean that we will need to get double approval: first in email and then in Workday?

To be sure it is clear, nothing changes in our email based approval/notification for vacation/sick time because of Workday. You enter it in Workday when approved by email.
