Thanks, Ron, pictures are always better then 1000 words. I would love also to get TH2 of the data in the figure. There are also couple of extra figures to see
- Light yield across the tile at 10, 50 and 90 cm distance from narrow side;
- Light yield along both legs of the fiber and along the line in the middle (between fiber legs) along the loop length;
- Light absorption length (lateral) vs X/Y position of a source (you may think that light is collected in two fiber points closest to emission point);
- add Al foil or Al’ed mylar on top surface and remeasure few points;
- same with black paper;
- same with Al foil and black paper then replace black paper by plastic used at UNIPLAST and try to see the difference;
I am confused by the depth of the valley along the tile central line. The party rule for the tile grooving was 1:2:2:2:1 (division of tile in lateral direction) - would be nice to understand this difference.
Finally fibers in the short tiles were 25+2*10 cm long - cladding light was dominant what explains x2 lower light yield.
Thanks again
Edward

Hi All,

I've uploaded a brief set of slides showing the first results from the big tile tests to my phenix/p/draft area: https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/WWW/p/draft/belmonrj/HCal/bigtile.pdf

Comments and suggestions are welcome!  If you're not on PHENIX but would like to have a look, please let me know and I'll send them to you directly.

Cheers,

Ron
