Chris-
I agree that we need a well thought out plan, but should also move quickly so as not to delay testing of oHCal modules 2-6 once all the interior cables and boxes arrive. The other important task that we need to do sooner then later is to mock up the iHCal. We have a few days/weeks while we wait for the new end plates, but once they arrive, we will need to have a place to start the assembly and see if things fit. I saw today that the iHCAL prototype has moved to 912. A discussion last week with Richie already identified a few potential modifications, and I would not be surprised if there are more. A few minutes (or days) after that we will want to power up the module as best we can to confirm that there is no heating issue with the electronics (the SiPMS after damage are another thread of discussion).
So as you go forward in planning, keep in mind not only the disruption to electrical infrastructure, but also disruptions to working in general and the movement/relocation of equipment and detectors.

Hello
The original conversation that I had with Brian Streckenbach was about moving
interior shielding blocks behind hi-bay door 15. The reason behind this was
to open up more square footage for storage of the outer hcal sectors.
It appears now that CA-D is open to removing much more shielding than
originally discussed, which I agree is a good thing, but will require quite a
bit more planning. I will reach out to Brian on Monday and we can start to
formulate a plan moving forward. The best case scenario would be zero
disruption of electrical power so the HCAL group can continue with testing
the sector electronics. I will keep all parties involved well informed of
the plan we develop moving forward.
If anyone has any specific concerns, feel free to email me directly and I can
see to it that we address them appropriately.

Hi John, All,
Thanks for the info!
Oops, really? When I last discussed this with Chris P. on Tuesday, the plan
was to propose to Brian to move only the shielding blocks that don’t have
utility lines running on top. So I didn’t anticipate this. Maybe Chris
could send an explanation to the list why the power loss might be an
implication of this? (Sorry, Chris, I had to miss yesterday’s planning
meeting due to end-of-semester business.) If that’s really the case, this
work would really have to be well coordinated in order not to impact us too
much.
Regards,
Stefan
