Subject: [Sphenix-l] PHENIX R&R and sPHENIX Planning

Hi all,

Beginning today, we will be combining the weekly R&R planning meeting with a weekly sPHENIX planning meeting. This reflects the progress of the sPHENIX project from the conceptual phase to the design phase. We are currently fabricating pre-production prototypes for several sPHENIX subsystems that are expected to be the same or nearly the same as the production components. Along with this we will need to be setting up space around the lab to handle these components, designing assembly and handling fixtures as necessary and planning for the labor required for these efforts (sPHENIX techs, CAD techs and bargaining unit crafts).

The INDICO page that was set up for PHENIX R&R has been modified to reflect that we will be planning both R&R and sPHENIX tasks. We will continue to use the same Bluejeans link that is already in place for R&R. Slides used at his meeting will be found on the Indico page by following the link below and navigating from there to today’s meeting.
