Hi Dennis,
This looks great and I especially think that the strong statements regarding the attempts to aggressively look for additional p+A running will be useful. Maybe in your back-up you can have a slide that shows how many weeks of pA running with current, weaker projections, we would need to genuinely get any physics results? Or perhaps we can express a minimum integrated pp luminosity that is required for our core program? You do make the point that trying to split the data sets would mean that we wouldn't get enough for either - but that might need to be shown more strongly given the desire of some folks to be fair.
One comment I have is that it might be better to highlight a different result than the RAA at different resolution parameters on slide 29. It's not so clear to me that given the difference in spectral shapes and quark/gluon that the comparison will be so easy, and I'd rather talk about the cool science we can do not just as "and we'll help the lhc experiments resolve their differences". Since you already discuss and show some RAA plots, they already should have a sense of the statistics that we'll be getting. Of course, my personal bias would be to mention jet v2.... But even dijet asymmetry or some other inclusive measurement to complement the structure measurements you already mention. (Perhaps emphasize that our mid-rapidity hadronic calorimeter will allow us to make precision structure measurements that have not been possible at RHIC.)
The second to last bullet on slide 17 feels incomplete.
Good luck!
Rosi

Dear sPHENIX colleagues,_______________________________________________
As you may know, the Quark Matter conference last week is immediately followed by the NPP PAC meeting on Monday morning, where sPHENIX will give an update and present our Beam Use Proposal.
I have prepared a draft set of slides for the BUP part of the presentation here: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/20316/contributions/79800/attachments/49195/84844/dvp-PAC-9-11-23-DRAFT-1.pdf (note that a summary of commissioning is given in a separate talk by Dave)
I would be happy for any comments over the course of today.
Dennis
