sPHENIX is a new detector at RHIC.

Dear sPHENIX (but am keeping the PHENIX list here, to not break the thread) –

 

As most of you know, I am the primary sPHENIX host at BNL and here’s a quick update from that side:

 

1. My training is up to date and I was caught up with all of my approvals as of a day ago (barring a few people who needed to supply a bit more information), so there shouldn’t be a barrier from my side for most of you

2. I have checked in with Kathy Nasta to make sure there’s no major issue on their side or mine, and I haven’t heard back (which suggests to me that they are busy with approvals).

3. As I write, I have receiving a huge wave of those GUV center approvals just this morning.

 

I’ll be keeping up with this throughout the day, but please feel free to email Mariette & me privately with any questions or concerns, and the SVO will do its best to help you!

Here is the irony:
I called the Users center and they said they are aware and are working on it… I filled the paperwork one month ago so I might loose computer access next week. A new undergraduate student at Iowa State who is an american citizen got his appointment  in two days just this week (he just needed remote access to BNL)….

deactivations) for PHENIX and sPHENIX. It's typically 1-2 per day but at
5pm today I got 150 mails with warnings that accounts get deactivated in
7 days because of an expired guest appointment. I have asked sdcc for
clarification but haven't heard back yet. It is a safe bet that there
was some glitch - if your guest id is fine, don't worry about this.
