Thanks for the important point. Indeed, in my original email, we are trying to accommodate any CEU students with a later deadline:

I don't currently have any undergraduates working on sPHENIX this summer, so it is not so relevant for me, however the abstract deadline for the CEU posters is August 2nd.  Thursday would be a bit early for the posters in that it is a good learning exercise for the undergraduates to write the abstracts themselves - but right now they're only 3ish weeks into the summer sessions and probably don't have enough information to write the abstract just yet.  It might make more sense to give them a couple more weeks in that regard.
