Hi Paul,

Thanks for the photos. I saw a small part of what your photos show early afternoon yesterday ...

For the Health Physicist (HP), you know that you just need to call x4660, right ?

As of now, the RF group is giving us next week to do the cryo field joint (and we can warm up the Cryo in 912 later this week).  Hopefully, the riggers are now installing the spool to the valve box/platform ...successfully.

All these work should happen in parallel.

Kin,

Cable tray progress: See photos.

  1. Vertical section on shield blocks completed.
  2. Uni-strut bridge supports for west to east tray section in progress.
  3. North to south tray section not started.
  4. Floor drilling requires Health Physics survey before commencing.
My electrician is doing all tray construction alone with other CAD electrician providing administrative support (along with Dave). The work controls process (see SBMS Subject Area on BNL Web) must be followed 100%. This level of controls eats up time but keeps workers safe and procedures compliant. It is a slow process but we have no choice.

Estimated time of cable tray completion is Wednesday Dec. 23rd (my assessment).

Piyush has included me in the development of the quench Detection & Data Acquisition/Control System necessary for the Low Current Test with himself and his technicians. This allows me to  see how to better integrate the equipment on the floor (racks, cables, structures, etc.) and operational issues as well. The Quench power supply and quench resistor/contactor rack is completed. The other voltage tap resistor/isolator equipment has not yet been brought up to its location near Valve Box. Also, the Data acquisition rack for low current test is not yet built.

I have not been able to get with Cryo to understand their status with low current test equipment installation this week.

Regards,
Paul

Dave Phillips told me almost an hour ago that our electrician is trying to fix the lift ...

Kin,

Mike and Robert Hoogsteden (CAD electrician) continue to be delayed because the lift has malfunctioned. Dave is getting another one brought to the job site. Dave has done a great job ensuring the work controls permits and coordinating manpower, so far-- (riggers needed to transport the lift if none are in the building 912 High Bay area).
I suppose that these man-lifts are not that plentiful because CAD owns a minimum number and needs to lease others.

I am doing what I can to expedite the job but some things are beyond my control.

I will give you an update on the linear potentiometer issue later today.

Regards,
Paul
