Hi,

I missed the network addresses set up so far (in 912) in my last email:

Port 1 - mds-912sphenix-term01.pbn.BNL.GOV (130.199.104.185)

Port 2 - cfe-912sphenix-ps1.pbn.bnl.gov acnfec507.pbn.BNL.GOV (192.168.123.42)

Port 3 - gpib11.pbn.BNL.GOV (130.199.104.189)

Port 4 - pxie-sphenix-01.pbn.bnl.gov (130.199.105.185),   originally pxie-erlqd-01.pbn.bnl.gov before Bill’s change

Port 5 - pxie-sphenix-rt.pbn.bnl.gov   (130.199.104.25),     originally pxie-erlqd-rt.pbn.bnl.gov   before Bill’s change

Subject: [Sphenix-magnet-l] network addresses ... Ray to close doghouse on Thursday ... more plan from Dave

Hello,

1.      Less than 27 minutes after I sent an email to let Kyle know that the power for the Rack had been installed, Kyle sent me a photo showing that

the network switch has been also installed in the Rack !  I just list the network ports set up by Bill at the end of this email.

You can see the network switch and the VME from Kyle’s picture.   Ralph Schoenfeld will be installing the chassis tomorrow with the Digi.  The Pixie unit for Zeynep will be

next week.   Thanks everybody for the speedy response !!

2.      Paul Giannotti has reported :

Frank Toldo & I have completed our strain gage & associated temperature element check out. All are functional except for these:

Verified via resistance and connector pin/wire continuity measurements. These were previously verified to be faulty as documented on Rich Meir’s instrument checkout spread sheets. See this file. I have marked up (connector J6) to show the instrument connections. The signals are good from the Dog House D connector extension cable all the way into the magnet. The signals are either open or grounded from the mating D connector ribbon cable up through the chimney to connector J6 on the Valve Box.

  1. TS32 and TS92 (axial tie rod – opposite lead end - @ 315 degrees)
  2. TT04 and TT05 (Tie Rod Calibration Temperatures)

I don’t think we will be able to correct the problem, in the short term, for these sensors (or if it is even worth doing for the High Field Test). I’m not sure, but the active tie rod temperature elements – TT01, TT02, TT03 can provide calibration temperature for the other tie rods. Otherwise, unless others want to pursue the strain gage issue further, I am finished for now and am not impeding Dog House closure.

We don’t use TT04/TT05 and TT32/92 had the same problem as in the low field tests though we did read them out in Aug. 2015 when we rotated the magnet.  But then, we wired
directly from the doghouse, without using those JUST connector.

2.1 Tom Tallerico/Richard Meier promised that they’ll be done by Wed.   So, Ray Ceruti will close the doghouse.

3.      Dave has sent me a plan :

n  We are trying to get Survey Group to assist with final tightening of the radial & axial cryostat supports tomorrow or Thursday.

n  After that is complete Carter can install the magnetic measurement frame (hopefully Friday).

n  ESRC walkthrough Monday.

n  Hopefully install the steel end wall starting Tuesday (don’t know who will be available with the holiday next week).

n  I need to check if the valvebox lead heater got installed today, then hopefully Frank can do the DC hook-up.

n  We then need to set-up for the short circuit test for Pablo.

n  Paul O says they hope to start cooldown on Monday 11/27, so we need all work inside the return steel completed before then (to avoid ODH issues).

Kin (sending all these from Hong Kong … without nothing to do :-)
