Hi,
After a whole day, the BNL network is finally back. So, I immediately went to check the cool-down progress from the Cryo HMI page (behind the C-AD firewall).
Apparently, it’s unaffected by the network problem and since late afternoon, the temperature of the Magnet Coil has been dropping like 0.6 K per hour. Now, the temperatures in the Magnet are around or below 280 K. I attach the picture of one such temperature sensor along with the picture of the entire Cryo system.
I understood that when the Cryo group tried to start cool-down Thursday afternoon, there was some flow problem. Eventually (~that night), they determined that it’s a software problem. Friday morning, they kind of went to manually start while they let Brian van Kuik work on the software. I’m not sure whether Brian has solved the problem yet …
--- I understand Pablo and Carl prepare to do the short-circuit test on Tuesday (to finish the test on Power Supply).
--- Paul Giannotti and Frank Toldo still haven’t finished the connections of strain gauge and linear pots.
