Hi Russ,

With Jon Hock’s help, I can answer your question (2).

  • Solenoid Valve Box
  • Who has these east and west (or left and right) resilient mount assemblies?

Jon stored them in the 1008 trailer.

  • Do we have all the hardware to attached all of this to the upper platform?

          Yes, said Jon Hock 😊

  • I have a very simplified model of the solenoid valve box that does not show how it is attached or landed on these resilient mounts?  Was there a design review where all of this was described? Can you point me to that?

Jim Mills and Jon told us that there was a review on Aug. 7, 2019 : https://indico.bnl.gov/event/6573/ .   The picture of the resilient mount assemblies were shown on p.30 of Jon Hock’s talk there.

Jon showed me the detailed model in Inventor.   You can get them in Inventor (Jon said).

All,

I don’t have any answers for question 2 relating to the solenoid valve box.  I provided my answers for the IP8 valve box below indented and in red for clarity.

  1. Valve Box
  1. What is the status of this large valve box tank? When does it arrive at PPPL? I want to add this key milestone to my overall sPHENIX schedule.
  1. 4/18/22
is this drip pan part of that order?
  1. Yes part of the order and coming with valve box
When was the last time someone checked the interfacing bolt patterns and things like that between the valve box pan and mounts and the upper platform?
  1. There is no need to bolt the item since its own weight should keep it in place.  Holes are provided in case we desire it.  The valve box was reviewed by Jon back in December since the vendor’s weight estimate increase.  Jon was not concerned with the increase as long as it landed in the area provided.  We can review with him again as further verification.
Is there anything else we need to order to place and secure the valve box to the upper platorm
  1. I don’t think so.  If there is an issue with the valve box feet, a large sheet plate could be helpful to span the load as a backup.  Conventional rigging techniques and tools would be used to lift the vessel by the built in lifting lugs.

Kin, Paul, Jim,

I am working on elaborating the sPHENIX construction schedule and looking for any details we may have missed.

If everything stays on schedule now we will want to install the two valve boxes and associated equipment on the upper platform in early to mid June.
