Hi,
Nicola Pacifico (CERN) came to sPHENIX control room before 10 pm to join me. He actually wanted to switch off a couple of his equipment after the mapping was done. The 1st mapping ended a few minutes before 10:20 pm and after confirming with
him, I started slow ramp-down.
I have actually been able to read the output file from Nicola's raspberrypi Computer and know where the scanning was at. Nicola has been scanning from ~4000 mm to 100 mm (so it's like +/- 200 cm) at 100 mm divisions at 10 deg. each. --- confirmed
by Nicola.
So, John , you may want to discuss with Nicola that we may want +/- 100 cm and finer divisions next time.
Just before 11:12 pm, when the slow ramp-down reached below 1000 A, I hit the crash button in the sPHENIX Control Room to trigger a fast discharge. ( Tonight , I had CAS Ron Walker standing at 1008B mezzanine to make sure the contactor opened.
We tested this before without current and I'd just like to make sure for this one time. ). As usual, MT01 rose less than 2 K.
