Thanks for the links to the instructions. (I remember this well from the Software meeting, but it is good to repeat for those of our collaborators who may not.)

Sasha, if you could kindly also summarize the significant changes with respect to the previous production.

Direct lookups via ls are hard on the lustre meta data server (also gpfs but to a lesser degree) and you will get the same lists. It's better to get used to this now - in the near future we will have to use some directory structure so not all files end up in the same place slowing down access, at that point a lookup via ls just becomes very painful.
