Commissioning and running of sPHENIX

Dear All,

The plug doors are going to be closed Wednesday morning and stay shut until 
Friday noon.  This is for the purpose of a test of the plug doors and also to 
test the magnet power supplies.

There are three implications:

1) Access to the bore:

The diving boards will be removed late Tuesday (tomorrow) afternoon (no 
access to bore) and re-installed Friday afternoon.  So access should be 
restored in time for the weekend.

2) LOTO locks:

We need all LOTO locks to be removed so we can close the plug doors.  Please 
remove your lock now and only put it back while you actually access the bore.

3) Subsystem test:

This will be an excellent opportunity to test all subsystems together with 
the doors closed.  We should power on as many detector parts as we can do 
safely simultaneously and study noise levels and temperatures.
