Minutes shift change 2023-04-24
general
—————
- new shift crews, training after this meeting, tomorrow overlap day
- safety walk through at 1:00pm today (Kin)
- electrical expert: arc flash sign in all racks, etc
- fire expert: scaffolding wood flammable, can be painted by fire retardant paint
- tomorrow morning 7:00am test fit of plug door, no one allowed in IR for that; should be done by 8:00am
- Wednesday morning to Friday: pole tip door will be closed for test close and magnet power supply work
- will lose access to bore Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning to Friday
- use opportunity to test all detectors together: noise, heat
evening: Cameron
- pretty quiet
- had tried to get air out of MVTX lines
- when tried to turn chiller on didn’t respond anymore
- had to replace chiller memory card (SD card)
- deleted log files, put original card back, all good
- wrote up shift crew chiller page on run web page, sub-atmospheric chillers (MVTX, FVTX, TPC, TPOT)
- -> add label to control panels regarding which detector we are looking at
- disconnected for SD card work, caused water leak, alarm
night: Charles
- only EMCal North and HCal were on
- one chiller had dropped below 1.8 l/min
- instructions to call subsystem expert
- investigating
day: Sean
- relatively quiet
- put fan on damp spot, cleared up alarm condition
- Tim and John replaced LV board, also HCal
- safety walk-through, now back to work
- Lee and Joel worked on alarm system
MBD (Mickey)
- last wiring for interlock was done, will check if they work tomorrow
- will work on FEM next
- will need to wait for Chi for firmware update (clock master signal)
HCal (Hanpu)
- replaced LV board, now good
- MPOD bias module tripped while Eric was investigating
- now two bad modules, no spares
- can make detector work with two good half of two half-broken modules; but this will leave us with absolutely no spares
EMCal (Sean)
- LV board replaced
- Tim investigating dark channels
- south looking good, few issues still in north
TPOT (Hugo)
- not much to report, taking noise data, found a way to initialize board that fixes earlier problem, which is good news
- John K: LV cables for fixing grounding ready soon, will install one today
- leave TPOT LV on-> in hands of shift crew
- will update standing orders
TPC (Jin)
- Rob signed off on cooling interlock, TPC always on, in hand of shift crew, any cooling issues contact Rob Pisani
- 96 % fo FEEs, 98 % of servers working
- trying to move to full system RC DAQ readout
- unplugged spark cable: will try after this meeting (update: was not possible to plug in)
INTT (Rachid)
- Damon finished bias interlock cables in north, moving to south
- installing FELIX board, need Martin’s help
MVTX (Zhaozhong)
- low flow rate
- took look today, gradually decreasing, investigating, no obvious air bubble
- daq01 cooling panel was in bypass (Cameron did this to start up chiller)
- swapped some cables
sEPD (Rosi)
- fiber optics are in
- only strong back with disk is missing (wait until run has started)
- bicycle rack confirmed fit
DAQ (Martin)
- had intense weekend
- next on agenda: calorimeter read-out
- Martin partially out for training tomorrow - Thursday
Magnet (Kin)
- nothing new
Plan of the day
- DAQ development
- subsystem testing
