RHIC
- rebucketing is done
- fixed collimation issue (yellow still not as clean as blue)
- one store lost on bpm permit
- false alarm, controlled beam dump, no risk for sPHENIX
- limited to 10^9 intensity, investigating
STAR
- beautifully centered
- next 1 mead
- used data for calibration
- probably ready to go to physics over weekend
debunched beam until stochastic cooling is in effect
sPHENIX
- approval to operate granted yesterday
- access underway for:
- starting magnet cryo
- starting nitrogen flow
- starting operating gas for TPOT and TPC
- instrumenting North tunnel background scintillators
- MBD saw lots of junk from north in first store
- difficulty timing in MBD since RHIC tune changed and coarse delay in GL1
(called L1 delay) was not implemented yet
- miscommunication between shift crews and experts: experts didn’t get
called for overnight store
- plan for tonight: continue MBD trigger commissioning
RHIC plan:
- run beam for experiments starting after this morning’s access through the
weekend
- start with 56 bunches
