General (Stefan/Kin)
Current Priority Items (PC)
Work Control Coordinators (Chris/Joel)
Plan of the Day (Stefan/PC/all–to be revisited at end of meeting)
No special runs requested, continue with 107x107 (related to C-AD abort kicker issue), 2mrad, field on, 8 hour stores
Run BigPartition with EMCal, HCal, MBD, ZDC, INTT, TPOT, LL1, GL1 - 400 Hz to exercise the system (checking online monitoring etc.)
DAQ/electronics tests – (i) checking RevTick (see MBD & DAQ e-log), (ii) adding more EMCal, (iii) trigger tests in separate setup
Additional INTT tests/debugging - not today, Raul planning to be in on Monday
Note that Monday is shift training,, shift overlap Tuesday, not a BNL official holiday
Wednesday full day access planned (magnet off), followed by 5-6 hours no beam for TPC with magnet still off (see previous shift change minutes for details)
=======================================================================
Evening (Brett Fadem [SL], , Aditya Prasad Dash [Daq Op], Lameck Mwibanda [Data Mon], Zhongling Ji [Det Op])
Evening shift inherited a store from the day shift.
Ran in local mode for experts, especially INTT.
There was an unannounced beam dump at about 8:30 pm.
MCR was ramping up to a fresh fill by midnight
Night (YA, HEnyo, Abdullah)
Local Mode running. INTT expert (Raul, Jaein) are woking to solve the “intt synchronization problem”
~0:20 new fill started. FIll # 33925. 107x107. Scheduled to dump @8:19
4AM the problem was “solved”
Raul change the DAQ to Global mode.
rc_begin (run20464). But only INTT runs. Stop the run. It turns out intt synchronization is also lost.
Move back to Local mode and INTT expert try to fix the problem again, but could not.
5AM+ INTT experts (Raul, Jaein) left. DAQ was local mode but none was using it.
7AM called John Haggerty. Left message in the phone
7:50 turned off HV since the beam was to be dumped at 8:20
Day (athira, maya, stacyann, bill)
Arrived to a filled machine but DAQ unhappy in global mode. John H assisted: started
rcdaq_server, and did something to ZDC. Upon arrival of a new fill at ~10am, we powered up and had no troubles running in global.
MBD did not require any timing adjustment in this new fill.
Remainder of shift was very quiet - we took a few runs while John H studied the
DAQ.
=======================================================================
Magnet (Kin)
Nothing new to report.
MBD (Mickey, Lameck, Abdull)
At around 7PM Seb18 crashed BUT reboot cleanly reacted to ping but we couldn't login with ssh & we connected the terminal from the console showed ext errors we couldn't log under root we pushed the reset button and didn't find the boot device. We cycled the power and it came back properly.
At the beginning of the store 33925, 111 X 111 No adjustment was done on phase 0 because it was much Okay(perfect) by then we were running in the local mode.
When they switched GTM from local to global mode and started a new run phase 0 had changed and adjusted it ⅓ of the RHIC clock( i.e pressed + sign 2 times).
We were expecting that if the rev-tick is in, then phase 0 should be stable, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Not sure what is going on here, but this needs further investigation.
Trigger (Dan)
GTM/GL1 (Martin/Dan/John K)
DAQ (Martin/John H)
See e-log entries regarding checks on RevTick
Also entries on HCal synchronization issue (Force Accepts where on, maybe issue related to LEDs)
Might add a couple of EMCal SEBs after this meeting
GL1 DAQ - some odd counting issue (6x faster) ?
MVTX ()
TPC (Tom Hemmick, Jin, Takao, Evgeny, Charles, Nick, Thomas, Adi, Tamas, David)
Prep for Wednesday’s 07/05 Maintenance Day:
1st - Bob + John K. restore 5 diffuse laser heads + trigger board (access)
2nd - Immediately after bore closure, test spark monitor installed yesterday
3rd - After spark monitor test, start diffuse laser test
Require 5-6 hours with NO MAGNET + NO BEAM after bore closure
Continued Analysis of last week’s MAGNET ON + 100 Hz collision data
Evgeny presented good summary of work so far at yesterday’s Physics Coordination Meeting
Yesterday routine maintenance during local mode:
Power cycling stuck FEEs (x3) - success
Monitoring runs until 8-9 PM last night
Please let us know if more local mode planned (not specifically requesting it)
(announcing it on mattermost is also fine)
HCal ()
Tower energy of a half ihcal sector much larger than the rest in the current run.
EMCal ()
TPOT ()
INTT (Maya)
We checked the timing with new data and saw INTT still doesn’t have synchronization of the 8 Felix boards. Raul and Jaien were working on it and had some progress but not yet fixed. We will keep working on this.
sEPD()
Gas/Cooling ()
ZDC ()
Background Counters ()
