Please do not try to defeat any facility lock in 1008 and see the message below from Ray Filler.  He also said : "I do not care why they did it. If this occurs again we will report it to laboratory police and launch an investigation.  Possible disciplinary action may result of that investigation. " 

If necessary, we may/should discuss with Tracy Blydenburgh to find a solution/alternative, but not a zip tie.

Good Morning Everyone,

 

                Last week, we received a complaint that a door was not secured and would not lock.  The locksmith was called and found that the door crash bar  was deliberately bypassed with a zip tie and tape.  This is not allowable as it is a serious security risk to our buildings.  There is no reason to defeat door locks.  Doing so allows unauthorized access to areas, and may result in stolen property.  We are accountable to DOE to protect our assets in all buildings.  If a door is found unlocked at the end of your shift….lock it, pay attention that a door shuts completely behind you and certainly do not prop open any doors or deliberately obstruct a lock.
