Dear All,

Furthermore, the aluminum supports Ribs (see the attached slide) are not implemented in Geant. There are four ribs on each side of the interaction point. These Ribs support HDIs cables, cooling, power cables, etc.....

These aluminum Ribs are out of the range of |eta| < 1.1 with vertex range +/- 10 cm.

Dan and I can provide you the drawings with the dimensions, thickness, and location of each aluminum Rib. I think it is important to have these Ribs in Geant, essentially for jet physics and vertex out of range of +/- 10 cm. Let us know, and it should not take us too much time to generate these drawings.

Sincerely,
Rachid

Dear Chris and others,

Last Tuesday at sPHENIX software and simulation meeting (https://indico.bnl.gov/event/21969/), INTT team was asked if the support structure of INTT is already in sPHENIX GEANT4 or not.

The support structures for INTT have been already |eta| <1.1 in GEANT as Genki presented in the same meeting two years ago.

Here is the indico and his presentation.
https://indico.bnl.gov/event/10544/
https://indico.bnl.gov/event/10544/contributions/58083/attachments/38823/64219/20211214_Geant4_INTT.pdf

As you can see in the slide, support structures are in and the materials are carbon (CFRP).

I confirmed the above and the following with Genki, who implemented these.

- cooling water and cooling tube which are at |eta|>1.1 are not implemented.
- the cylinder which has the same amount of the material as bus-extender has is implemented.

Therefore, most of the material related to INTT in the sPHENIX acceptance (|eta| <1.1) is already implemented.

Best regards,

Maya on behalf of INTT
