100,000,000 Amps is the STAR EPICS default when no magnet current data is available from CDEV. EPICS cannot return "no value", so STAR Slow Controls services use 100,000,000 to indicate issues. With such a strong magnetic field, there should be ~zero reconstructed tracks in the event (unless there are lasers).

Since it is the CDEV data distribution server that is gone bad, there is no way to restore values. Even CAD archives will likely not have them.

MCR called to tell me that they had reset the CDev server, however our
magnet current alarm state is still red. The magnet is actually fine,
so we will keep running and just keep an eye on the magnet currents.

Magnet current readings in slow controls fixed after CDEV reset during
the night.

So, easiest is to mark all runs from 19158001-19158020 bad. They are likely
not reconstructed correctly with the assumption of a gigantic magnetic field.
You may see quite an interesting momentum spectrum....

Hmm. That's interesting. There's something wrong with the magnetic field readout
for that run. If I look at the runlog
https://online.star.bnl.gov/RunLogRun18/index.php?r=19158007
it says

STAR Magnet 100,000,000.0 Amps

which would be pretty impressive if it were real :)

this seems to last between runs 19158001-19158020
where 19158001-3 are at -100 MAmps
and 19158006-20 are at +100 MAmps

Hi All,

I'm working with a 27GeV_production_2018 dataset. I found that this dataset contains Full and Reverse Full Field data. However, according to the RunLog page, we should not have data for the Full Field in this dataset at all. Also the RunLog page states that these files must belong to the Reverse Full Field.
Here is few examples:

I'm confused. Does anyone know what is happening here?

Thank you,
