Minutes:
Production status:
hybrids: 10 sets in 4 weeks (9/28), 50 more in 5 weeks (10/5)
MS: first MS expected on 9/25
cooling tubes: AIDC already made 50, 30 more this week
Silicon sensors: order still at BNL, should be out very soon
Integration:
1) Cooling rack refurbishment and test - Rahul
-> Rahul: a new pump has been ordered. Will do two weeks of low load and two
weeks of high load after the system is reassembled
-> Christian: found 60Hz abnormal signal waves from the coolant level sensor.
Have ordered a new controller. Will replace it together with the new pump.
2) Design the cooling lines, and cable trays between disks and cooling
manifold - Felix/Rahul
3) Installation procedure and tolerance requirements - Rahul/Yi/Zhenyu
->Rahul: will change the Al ring thickness from 8 mm to 5/16 inch ~ 7.9mm.
Per request by Gerard, will add tapped holes on the ring, for each module
location, to connect to ground, will follow up on this after Tuesday’s
meeting next week
->Yi: have made an inner ring via 3D printing. The precision does not look
good. Will send it to Rahul for assessment on whether or not more precision
manufacturing is needed
4) Survey procedure and requirements - Rahul
-> Rahul: Finish 3D model by end of Aug. Will take a couple of weeks more to
make detailed drawings and perform a tolerance analysis, and talk to survey
group to get how precise we can know the positions of disks
5) Prepare documents for prelim safety review with C-AD - all
-> Mike/Gerard will follow up on cables
-> Maowu/Jianing: prepared a document for hybrid, T-board,
-> Yi: will prepare the document for PEEK, cooling tubes, glues/thermal
grease, list materials, data sheets, flammability
Mechanical structure:
1) Test and examine the new assembly procedure - Yi
2) Document the mechanical structure and hybrid assembly QC criteria - Yi
-> New production team is trained, the new jig works well, document has been
updated
2) Use thermal camera to check air bubbles for hybrid mounting - Yi
-> still working on it
Hybrid/T-board/Inner Signal Cable/Patch Panel Board/Back of Crate Board:
1) Sign-off on hybrids - Jianing/Maowu/Gerard
-> Signed off by Gerard last week. SDU expects to receive the first 10 sets
in 4 weeks, 50 more in 5 weeks.
2) Update the T-board design to avoid the conflict with Mechanical structure
- Jianing/Maowu/Gerard
-> tolerance contributions: MS, hybrid, connector on hybrid, connector on
T-board
-> Yi waiting for soldering company to know the position tolerance of
soldering connectors onto hybrids
-> Yi will measure on FST05 the distance between outer hybrid connector and
MS mounting holes to understand T-board capacitor conflict with MS on
prototype
-> Yi will add a fit test step for T-board/Hybrid before and after mounting
the hybrids onto MS
3) Check how T-board would mount onto MS, and how to fix cables -
Jianing/Maowu/Mike/Gerard/Rahul
-> Maowu: found a 2mm discrepancy for outer hybrid, which could explain the
conflict with the prototype modules
-> Rahul: won't use the four holes on the T-boards. Will send an email
describing the strain-relievers for the cables.
4) Look into splitting the inner and outer sensor HV bias -
Mike/Gerard/Christian
5) Inventory list of PPBs - Flemming/Zhenyu
6) Send the problematic prototype cable-T-board assembly to Mike for
investigation - Zhenyu/Mike
->Zhenyu: sent to Mike via FedEx on Tuesday. expected delivery on Thursday
7) Develop the QC procedure for Inner cable and T-board assembly - Mike/Maowu
Production Module assembly:
1) Discuss with Fermilab about production module assembly schedule - Zhenyu/Xu
-> Zhenyu will try to schedule a meeting with Fermilab guys
2) Design and fabricate module storage boxes for production at UIC - Xu/Andres
3) Duplicate the module assembly tooling at UIC - Xu/Zhenyu
Prototype Module test:
1) Look into the overall large CMN noise, and the abnormal noise of few
channels first appear in the readout - Gerard/Xu
-> FST more noisy than IST, plan on a visit to UIC by Gerard on Sep 10
2) Check the FST noise performance at high readout rate (pedestal runs at 10
Hz, 1 kHz, 3kHz) - Xu
3) Use the laser test stand to characterize prototype module performance -
Andres/Zhenyu
4) Test stand setup at BNL - Prithwish/Hu
Software:
1) FST Fast/Slow Simulator - Shenghui
-> Shenghui: cleaned up Fast simulator, send the codes to Daniel
2) Prepare FST offline software - Shenghui/Xu
3) Detector slow control - Xu
4) Cooling system slow control - Prithwish/Hu
