Hey Xu,
Didn’t realize your first email was in this chain – see replies below.
Regarding Slide 3:
“FST-V3.1-07 is too tight to be plugged in “ – Do you mean the connector/pins are too tight? I’m not sure how to address this, other than as you said going through a few insertion/removal cycles and hoping it loosens up.
“FST-V3.1-02 shows I2C error” – This could be a wire or pair out of place – I didn’t inspect these closely, but we should be able to buzz it out and confirm. If it’s not the cable the only other issue I can imagine is a bad temp sensor on the T-board putting out garbage data. I’d put my bet on the former.
On Slide 4: “In modified ABC board: inner HV is applied through BNC-pin splitter and outer HV is applied by BNC => need confirmation from Mike.” – This is correct.
On Slide 5: This noise issue is odd as Gerard said. I think he’s right in that all we have to test here is for voltage on other pins where it should not be. However I’d expect the noise to disappear once the bias is dropped low enough or shut off. That one is a mystery to me.

On Behalf Of Capotosto, Michael
Hey Gerard,
I believe one cable had two or three bent pins on one of the D-Sub connectors. I just didn’t get around to crimping on new pins to the bad spots – but I believe we added the second cable as a spare.
As far as testing purple cable assemblies, I ordered a few boards with headers to test point to point continuity through the T-Board and purple cable, but never got a chance to put any of them together and confirm I got all the pins correct.
For gray cable testing – I suppose the easiest way to do the hi-pot would be to short all unused/signal pins to ground through a connector, apply 200V to the bias pins, and look for current to increase. Do you think this is sufficient?
For testing pin to pin continuity we have a configurable B&K Cable Tester that can be used, so long as we have one known-good cable for the tester to “learn”.
Thoughts/comments?

hi Flemming, Definitely that's right, we should test. (I hope we will not have to be testing for some obscure issue though. We better sort that out soon. Simple continuity, hipotting the bias wires, and visual inspection of the connectors, is all (I would hope) is needed.) What was the "connector issue"? Mechanical damage in the removal after IST? Or something else?
