Hi Zhenyu,

We just got reply from the company, they don’t have any experience in shortening the screws and there are also many potential risks that they cannot afford.
Option 2 or 3 might be safer at current stage.

Maowu & Jianing

Maowu, thanks for confirmation.

There might be one small issue. The screws of the connectors on the
T-board seem to be a little bit too long, so that it creates a small
conflict with the module peek mechanical structure (MS). See page 3 in
Xu’s presentation from last week’s FST meeting [1]. It seems to me
that one can still press the T-board to fasten with the MS through the
four corner holes. But the T-board and/or the MS has a tiny bend. As
this observation is not fully consistent with what Yi reported in [2],
I have asked Yi to check again.

If the answer is yes, I see 3 options

1. Shorten the screws (I don’t think it is possible but Maowu please confirm)
2. Leave as is
3. Add a washer between T-board and MS

A related question for the group is whether we should use PEEK
screws/nuts to use to fasten T-board onto MS, as pointed out in Yi’s
slides. I don’t recall we have come to a conclusion at the meeting (?)
but we should decide soon.

Please comment.

Thanks,
Zhenyu

Hi Maowu, Jianing,

We have tested the new T-boards/purple cables in the readout and found no problem.
Please go ahead with the T-board assembly and testing.

Best,
Zhenyu

Hi Mike and Yi,

We just finished the QC test of the first 10 sets of T-board , and will send them to you soon.

Please confirm the following address for you is correct or not:

8 sets to Mike:
Brookhaven National Laboratory, Shipping Department- Building 98 Upton, NY 11973,
Michael Capotosto, capotosto AT bnl.gov.

2 sets to Yi:
No.1 University Rd., East District, Tainan City, 70101
National Cheng Kung University, Department of Physics,
Yi Yang

One thing I need to mention to you, the nuts in the connector have the shedding risk.
So when you do installation, please make sure the screw is well tightened.

Regards,
Maowu
