Hi Xu

thanks for the info. I would not think this could be an external noise source
since then I would have expected it to show up in more that just two spatially separated
modules. Are the two sets of cable for -11 and 1-7 close to each other?

Hi Gerard,

Nothing was touched on any FST cable or support connections between
when it was noisy and when it was not? That would be comforting to
hear.
We didn't do anything. I was just trying to get some baseline before
we pulled the detector then I saw the noise went away.
CAD put a few tubes on top of one bundle of gray cable but I doubt it
will do anything.

Will it be possible to take regularly some biased/dark runs over
next few days to watch for changes? That would be optimal I think.
That's what I am going to do.

Best,

Xu

I think it may be too soon to rule out an intermittently bad
connection in the FST.

Hi Elke,

Thanks for asking. I am about to send the email.
As you said, the noise just went away before we did anything.
The good thing is the detector is working properly but we don't know
why it is gone.

It turns out both the module and purple cable are good and there
seems to be an unknown source of noise around yesterday.
We postponed the detector pulling and are trying to identify the
possible noise source, but no luck so far.
If we could find the noise source, we will try to decouple it from
our FST.

Best,

Xu

Dear All,

I just did hear your noise is gone, without doing anything.
Can somebody please elaborate a bit on it.

Thanks elke
