Hi Jamie and All,

We understand Jamie's concern on the overlapping figures between the short and long papers.
For now, we prefer to keep them as they are.
If the editor(s) also brings this up during the review, we can make adjustments then.

Again, neither of the two papers has been submitted to journal.
We will wait until both papers get approval from STAR.

If you have any further questions/comments, please let us know.
If not, please also let us know if we can return the updates to starpapers-l.

Sincerely,
Yicheng for PAs

Hi Jamie,

For your second question, the short paper has not been submitted to PRL yet.
I am waiting for the long paper so that they can be submitted simultaneously.

Sincerely,
Yicheng

Hi Yicheng,
These look pretty non-controversial to me.  Others in the GPC?

The only thing that gives me pause is the comment from NISER, l. 440,
about identical figures.  This might be an issue, in that PRL now
has a policy (looks like it was updated in 2017) about joint submissions that
"The longer manuscript should provide a substantially increased understanding of the subject while keeping the overlap of figures, tables, and text material to a minimum."

Is this really a minimum?

Another question I have, actually, is have we lost the chance for joint submission, maybe this is
to Sooraj/management.  We won't have submitted these simultaneously, right?

"When authors submit simultaneously to Physical Review Letters and to Physical Review, the two manuscripts are reviewed coherently, typically by the same reviewers. If both papers receive favorable reviews, they are published together, unless simultaneous publication leads to undue delay for one of the papers."

Hi GPC,

We have got the comments on the long paper from SCSU, ACU, NISER, and IMP groups.
We tried to reply to those comments and modify the paper draft accordingly.

The related files have been uploaded to drupal webpage:

If you have any further comments, please let me know.

After you think it is ready, we can then return the updates to star-papers-l.

Sincerely,
Yicheng for the PAs
