Hi Yi,
I was planning to simply give an overview of what the MTD is and how it detects muons, to provide some background information for the analysis.  Thank you for the reminder about the preliminary results, I will be sure to check it out.
Thanks,
Rachael

Hi Rachael,

Thanks a lot for the nice abstract.
I don't have any comments on it.
However, I have one question, you mentioned "Additionally, there will be some discussion of the MTD", could you please tell us more about it? What are you going to discuss about the MTD?
By the way, if you are interested in looking at the dimuon channel, you can contact Rongrong or the BNL MTD local group for more information.
Just want to remind you that there were some preliminary results about J/psi or Psi(2S) using the dimuon channel from Run17. Te-Chuan also presented some updates on it a couple months ago.

Cheers,
Yi

Hi Sooraj and Barbara,
I will be analyzing p+p 510 GeV data from 2017.  The 200 GeV in the title was a typo, thank you for bringing it to my attention.  I will make the changes you suggest and upload a new draft shortly.  Sorry about any confusion.
Thanks,
Rachael

Hi Rachael,
    I am a bit confused here. In your abstract text you say measurements for 510 GeV (but this is published for dimuon channel and for dielectron with 500 GeV). Your title say at 200 GeV. We have also published results for J/Psi production at 200 GeV. So which energy are you planning to show results for? Which year datasets? In the abstract could you indicate what will be new with the measurement? Is it the multiplicity dependence? If so, could indicate that in the title too.

Some further comments:
L2: 'nature of quantum chromodynamics' - its not a clear term. May be you could rephrase as non-perturbative aspects of quantum chromodynamics
L4: You could add a sentence here on why the multiplicity dependence measurement at 200 GeV would be interesting

thanks
Sooraj

Hi Rachael,

nice abstract. Please see my comments below.

- J/\Psi -> J/\psi
- Title: your measurement is at 510 not 200 GeV, right ?
- " In this measurement, the J/Ψ pT spectra and yield as a function of multiplicity are measured in proton-proton collisions at √ s = 510 GeV via the dilepton decay channels." - it sounds as if we were going to present the final physical results on this. I propose to rephrase it, since you're going to show only initial steps as you write later, e.g.:
The aim of this analysis is to measure the J/psi pT spectra and ..... via the dilepton decay channel.

Barbara

Hello Rachael,

We note that you have requested for hp-pwg presentation next week, so
please prepare for that.
Due to limited time we can go ahead with this abstract without a
showstopper.
We will decide the result/plots be shown at DNP later.

Please find my comments on your nice abstract below.

1_ Title:
"Toward a …Channel" -> "Toward a …Channel in $p$+$p$ collisions at
$\sqrt s $ = 200 GeV in the STAR experiment"

2_ "Rachael Botsford" -> "Rachael Botsford (for the STAR collaboration)"

3_ "with their own anti-quarks…" -> "with their anti-quarks…"

4_ "This analysis will measure J/Ψ pT spectra and yield as a function of
multiplicity in proton-proton …"
->
"In this measurement, the J/Ψ pT spectra and yield as a function of
multiplicity are measured in proton-proton …"

5_ As "TPC", "TOF", and "BEMC" are not used in the next sentences, so
you can drop those abbreviations.

6_ "…including J/Ψ invariant mass plots and plots related to electron
and muon identification in the STAR detector." -> "... including J/Ψ
invariant mass distributions and the methods for electron and muon
identification using the STAR detector."

Nihar
