Hi Tanmay,

it looks good to me. I sign off with a few minor comments.

- L13: since you mention only rho here, I would change "differential jet shape" -> "jet shape"
- L17: will present -> present (to be consistent with the next sentence)
- L20-21:  from 200 GeV STAR pp collisions and exploratory studies of these observables from 200 GeV STAR Au-Au collisions. ->  from pp collisions and exploratory studies of these observables in Au-Au collisions at 200 GeV using the STAR detector at RHIC.

Cheers.
Barbara

Hi Barbara and all,

Thanks for the feedback. Please find them implemented here:

By the different populations I meant that the jets at RHIC will be formed from a different population of partons. I have elaborated a bit on that in the abstract. Please let me know if that's okay.

Thanks

Tanmay

Hi Tanmay,

thanks for the update, the current content looks better to me.
Please see below my comments.

- Add STAR to the tile
- Remove the in-line references
- L7:  relative to vacuum or a pp collision baseline. ->  relative to vacuum (pp collisions) baseline.
- L11-16: "Previous results from the CMS experiment ... towards quark-like fragmentation of jets in presence of a medium" ->   LHC results showed medium-induced modification of jet shape distributions and bias towards quark-like fragmentation of jets.
- L17: what do you mean by "different population" ?
- L19-20: We present results fully corrected for detector effects rho(r) observable -> In this talk, we will present measurements of the fully corrected rho(r) observable
- L22: remove "initial"
- L23: observables from 200 GeV STAR Au-Au collisions -> observables in Au+Au collisions.
- L24-25: I would remove the last sentence "Comparisons of results ... "

Cheers,
Barbara

Ok, now I get.
Please make it more clear (specific) in the abstract then.

Hi Barbara,

Differential jet shape is the \rho(r) variable which shows the distribution of charged particle momentum wrt the jet axis. Our postdoc Joel Mazer showed the preliminaries for the uncorrected results in hard probes 2020. Since I joined rutgers in 2020 we have been working on the corrections to that using dijet embedding. Please refer to Joel’s talk from hard probes 2020 (slides 9-12), for further clarification on this analysis:

PtD, lesub and girth variables are a separate analysis that I have taken over this year.

I intend to update Hard probes pwg on the differential jet shapes analysis this week.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments

Thanks,

Tanmay

Hi Tanmay,

I'm bit confused. Which differential jet shape observables fully corrected do you promise for both pp and Au+Au ? I thought we're talking here about Girth, p D T and LeSub. But now in one sentence you say fully corrected in both systems, in the next sentence says that the results are fully corrected only in pp.

Barbara

Hi Barbara and Nihar,

Thanks for your comments. We have the fully corrected results (corrections applied from the dijet embedding) of differential jet shapes ready for both pp and AuAu, which I will be presenting the coming Thursday to hard probes. However for PtD, LeSub and Girth observables I can promise only pp results fully corrected for now, so I have changed the abstract accordingly.  Please have a look at the updated version and let me know of your comments.

Thanks,

Tanmay

Hi Tanmay,

I would suggest sticking to p+p results.
Corrections for Au+Au will be more challenging, and you're still investigating the p+p case.
I think it's better to say that you will show some exploratory studies for Au+Au, not to over promise.

Barbara

Hello Tanmay,

As we discussed at last HP-pwg meeting,
Are you planning to present both pp and AuAu jet shape observables?
and do you think it is feasible to prepare both pp and AuAu results in
HP2023 timeline?

Please let us know that will help us to give a shape your abstract.

Thank you
Nihar
