Hello All

Here are some thoughts for quarkonium triggers in Run24 pp collisions: 

- BHT2
-- Motivation: Upsilon, high-pT J/psi
-- Threshold: same as Run23
-- Bandwidth: no pre-scale


- BHT1
-- Motivation: intermediate-pT J/psi
-- Threshold: same as Run23
-- Bandwidth: ideally no pre-scale, but need to see rates


- Dimuon
-- Motivation: J/psi down to 0 pT; MTD trigger efficiency study for Au+Au
-- Threshold: very loose time window as Run15
-- Bandwidth: no pre-scale if possible. If not, use pre-scale to sample similar luminosity (120 pb^-1) as Run15 such that we can achieve similar precision

We have certainly HP physics plan for Run24 pp (and also pA) based on BUR23-25.
I have a few things to discuss using forward trigger and existing HT1/2/3 + L2gamma trigger for pp as well as pA. We can discuss on it.

If Other PAs have specific plan for Run24 pp and pA (along with AuAu), it would be good to know and have a discussion on it.

From my side, I will prepare some slides to discuss in this direction.

STAR Collaboration meeting will be held on Oct 16 – 20, so probably

Hello, PWGCs
Run24 is apporaching quickly, and we need to be ready for pp running
by
January. So I would like to have 1st trigger board meeting Oct 16.
I've
already asked Spin/Cold QCD PWGCs to presents physics & trigger needs
at
the 1st meeting. I would like to ask all other PWGCs to do the same in
following week.
Please discuss physics, trigger needs, and its bandwidth for pp200
running, and pA running, among PWG and be ready to present at trigger
board. We've already discussed and run triggers for AA for both
MB/High
Rate running and High Lumi running during run23. But if there are any
changes, please also disuss.
